there is nothing wrong with that at all. im sure your dad has had a lot of experience with guns and as long as you just shot cans and stay a safe distance in case of richoets your just fine. its better to learn about guns young so you know how to treat and RESPECT them when you are older and teach your kids when you become a father.

They are: 1) always treat your gun as if it is loaded, 2) always keep the barrel pointed in a safe direction, and 3) keep your finger off the trigger until you're ready to shoot. yup as long as its legal for your dad is probably legal for you. Have your dad if he is also hunting check the rules to see if you can hunt along side him. There are some areas that only allow you to be 18 or some other requirement. You might also need a permit.

You are a very blessed kid to spend time with your father. Have fun and be careful. If it is OK with your dad to shoot your pellet gun then it is nobody is business but yours and your dad's. As long as you do not point your pellet gun at someone and it is not against the law to have it where you camp it is perfectly OK.
