Im looking for good tasting easy to make meals. Meals that are dry, like freeze dried or dehydrated for a lighter load

l do the mr noodles type cups and cup a soups, sometimes tea (though that is not really a meal..)

Well there is this like rotc thing food packets my sister brought once there really good and there really cool and have evrything ready just add boiling water and l think some of them even have water in a compartment they even had mac n cheese!

Easy to doing and easy to bring, and more prctice.

buy MRE,s meals ready to Eat, all you have to do is heat them there is a heater pack that all you have to do is add water and it heats it by chemicial action,

Why not just go to ur local outdoors store, Dick is Sporting Goods, Sportsman is Warehouse, Meijer even ( l think) & buy some Mountain House or Backpacker is Pantry? These r freeze dried meals that provide u with what u need, l prefer Mountain House because they r simpler to make & nearly all Mountain House r made the same, other brands vary & it can be annoying trying to always figure it out. l backpack frequently, at least 3-4 trips a year, & l always pack this type of meal. Also, Cous Cous is a good option, it is pretty filling & a great supplement to a meal.

l agree with Robert K. mountain house freeze dried food packages r good & easy. u can get them at any outdoors store. There r about 5 hiking/backpacking type stores within about an hour drive from my house, but then again l live very close to the great smoky mountains natl. park. they all sell freeze dried food. u should try to find out if there r any stores like these near you. if u can find a store that sells only hiking & camping supplies, the people who work there will probably be able to tell u everything u need to know. good luck & have fun out there!!

l am assuming that u do not want dehyd meals because of the expense & r looking for low-cost alternatives.

Spaghetti is always good.
And if you dehydrate tomato sauce into a fruit leather kind of thing, you can mix water with it for decent sauce.
And there are pretty good instant mashed potatoes out there.

l shop at the Bulk Zone for that dehydrated stuff. They have powder tomato sauce, TVP, soups, oats, dried fruit, etc.

The tips so far have been great. l use the freezerbag style cooking quite frequently, & it works really well. You can adapt many ''just add water'' products from the grocery store & make them in a freezer bag. Easy, cheap & tasty.

We've done entire Thanksgiving dinners that way - stove top stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, etc.

Excellent quality, great taste. they have mixes for breads, rice dishes, stews, soups, etc. Very inventive, with real ingredients.

You can make your own beef jerkey overnight in the oven. Put it in boiling water and you have a meat starter.
