You can easily buy one online if you wish to.There are literally dozens of online stores that sell Swiss Army knives. Some stores have their own policy as far as age limits of 18 or older, but it depends on where you live. They are available for sale at Walmart and K-mart for that matter.. They are not against the law to own in any state.Good Luck!

P.S. You can always go with an adult to buy one..

Most places it is 18. You might check with the authorities that regulate hunting in your state to be sure. They would probably have the answer.

You can, however, have an adult buy the knife for you. I've done that for people who were too young to buy one but responsible enough in my mind to handle one.

The best thing to do is to discuss ur interest with ur folks before u attempt to purchase a pocket knife on ur own. l assume you're living at home at 14 & l think every parent has a right to participate in the decision whether to bring any sort of potential weapon into the home & exactly why their kid wants one, what he intends to do with it, & where it will be kept when not in use. As a parent I'd also want to be sure my son knew about knife handling safety & responsibility & the local laws that were applicable to his possession, carrying & use of the knife. It is a lot to think about.

l got my first pocket knife when l was 11 & started in Boy Scouts, but l was only allowed to wear or use it at Boy Scout outings & camp. By 13 l was allowed to keep it full time, so l do not see any ''maturity'' reason why ur parents would forbid u to have a pocket knife, as long as u need it for whittling, camping, or even perhaps self-defense.

in nj you can not carry any knife with a blade longer than four inches or an overall length of ten inches if you're under eighteen.
most dealers are not even awaer of this so they wo not sell it to you anywhere.
