Me And my cousin are having a campout in my backyard and l was wandering what are some things we can do? like we're making smores and stuff, and shes bringing her portable DVD (which l know ruins the ''camping'' affect, but oh well) and what are some other things that we can do/ THANKS!!

do the classic and tell ghost stories. and yes bringing a portable DVD player does ruin the ''camping'' theme.

l have weekend camp outs with my family frequently You can set up a weber bbq & have a camp fire in it using one of those fire wood packages u can find at many grocery stores. turn out the lights & stare at the stars use the same equipment when camping away from home. Back yard camping gives u the opportunity to practice camping skills with home only steps away. Use the bbq to cook & prepare ur meals instead of doing it in the house. Keep everything in the yard & use the house only for the toilet. Bring cards out with you, & other board games. toss a frisbee. share camping locations u would like to camp at & pretend you're camping there. By all means leave the DVD in the house! l hate camping with noise makers like t.v.'s, radios, etc. It definately ruins the experience. Here is an idea! Go out for a ''neighborhood hike'' on ur hike try to discover new things u normally do not pay attention to like flowers, animals, insects, etc. Have fun! That is the most important part!

You could build a fire and cook hotdogs, then have smores;
get a constellation map and look for stars; put up a tent; look at the night-time bugs that come out at night with your flashlights in the backyard; if you have lightning bugs, you could catch a few and put them in a jar with a lid with holes in it; I've also blown bubbles on camping trips, sang camp songs, and told stories.
