Is it illegal to cut your own wood in Texas?Or does it depend on the campsite?

As far as l know, a person can cut their own fire wood on public places such as a public park but l would not cut down a live tree for the wood.just collect the dead wood on the ground.

as l live in texas and camp all the time, l know that most all the state parks in tx do not allow you to cut your own wood. however most parks provide wood that you can buy. it also does depend on the campsite because l have been to places that let you cut wood. you should ask at the office when entering the park.

Do not cut live trees .its too green & it wo not catch!

There r alot of state parks that will NOT allow u to pick up wood. But they do sell them $4 a bundle or more/less. You always want to make sure that there is no burn ban. Although its been raining, but that does not mean it has not been lifted!

The drier the wood the better to catch on fire.
As for campsites. l do not think they have different rules.Its all the same. But it never hurts to ask up front.

If u have ur own trees, like out of city limits, u can cut them down, its best to let them dry out before u burn them.
Sometimes the city, wants u to contact & make sure that u can cut down in city limit. You have to call everyone! It has to be a certain limit away from the cables & other things.

It is definetly illegal to cut your own wood! l would go to your grocery store or gas station, and etc. and buy a bundle of wood. Here in Michigan there is a grocery store called Farmer Jack and they sell LOTS OF WOOD!!! So do the gas stations and l live in the city.

If for some reason they do not sell wood where you live you could always use charcoal.
