Well think your way through it.. Morning your gonna want some coffee after you have to the bathroom. Here, what do you need. In the bathroom, and your supplies there. For fun, you may need games, fishing pole, lawn chairs to relax. think. Lunch - Water, shovel.. Night; Flashlights, matches, camp stove, just in case you cant have a fire . sit back and think.. If you break down..what your gonna need for that .. Simple. Happy Camping.

If you've got the time, call ahead or find out what kind of facilities exist where you're going--public campgrounds have a lot of amenities. If they have wood, u probably do not need the axe, etc. If they have a bathhouse, u do not need a shovel to make ur own, etc. If you're backpacking, carry what u need in the smallest forms u can to avoid carrying too much gear.

Try not to forget: something to carry water. Dishsoap. Raingear. Flashlight with fresh batteries. Fuel for ur stove. Can opener. Potholder (leather glove, etc) to lift hot pots around a fire or stove. Something to put ur bed on that is comfortable (bedroll/pad) is nice as well. A small backpack is nice too. Camera.

Have a blast. You will learn something every time. If u go for a weekend, plan something on Friday (maybe a day-hike in a park). Adjust for backpacking to carry less (unless u enjoy carrying 40 pounds of stuff)

A nice coated nylon poncho, because if it rains do you really want to spend your trip in a tent, or do you want to carry on about your business, fishing, hiking or whatever? l actually carry an umbrella and coated windbreaker jacket (not seam sealed), but if l was fishing I'd bring a poncho.

You will need to be armed to the teeth. Do not forget to bring a good rifle and plenty of ammunition. There are bandits out there who will kill you for the shoes on your feet.

l am not going to list everything that everyone else already listed, but make sure u have a map of the area you're going to be in, & if u go hiking make sure u get maps of the trails. Make sure u have a good sleeping bag warm enough for whatever area you're going to be in. A pillow is nice too. Food that is easy to cook & easy to clean the pans-- tuna noodle casserole, spaghetti, pre-cooked corn on the cob. A large pot or bowl for washing the dishes in. Small bags of trail mix & little bottles of water for ur knapsack if u go on day hikes. Make sure u have a flashlight in that knapsack also--- it is easy to be caught after dark still tripping along the trail trying to find ur way back. Bring a little bit of dish detergent both for ur dishes & if u need to wash any of ur clothes. Bring ur cell phone & ur cell phone charger--- get one that u can plug into ur car cigarette lighter, because u probably wo not have electricity for a regular plug-in thing. Have fun!
