Some buddies and l are looking at a lake trip to Lake Blackshear at Veterans State Park in southwest GA.l looked up the lakeside camping spots and they are 25 bucks per night with a maximum of six people per siteWe are going to have around 20 or more people and it just seems a little excessive to have to pay 50 bucks for the weekend per each space plus 3 dollars per day per vehicle.We normally go to group camp sites or primitive camp sites, but they do not have any within a half mile of the water.

My question is do you think that the price is a bit much?

no because people over the years have gotten sloppier about picking up their trash,

l camp all over the Southeast, and that is about as cheap as you can find anywhere at a normal campground. Most campgrounds are at least $30 and l have paid up to $60 per night in some locations (lakefront, beach etc.) You are more accustomed to the primitive rates l guess.. Look at it this way, It is much cheaper than putting up 20 people in even the cheapest motel!

Hmm l guess it depends. Like where we are going this weekend it is around $8.00 to camp in the national forest. No hook ups, no showers. Where we are going next month has full hook ups, showers, etc and it is $25 a night. That is for a trailer to have full hook up. l do not know what it is for no hook up or for the section that is for tent camping only. This is in Oregon.

$50 divided by 20 people = $2.50 each.
Not bad rates at all!

It is a little excessive. Most parks charge about $18-23 dollars for the camping (electric, modern shower facilities, and water). But remember this; You have one life and you should enjoy it. Money is not worth having if all you do is keep it locked up in a bank. The few extra dollars are worth it if you are going to have fun with your friends.

That is pretty cheap lodging if you think about it. l assume there are some ammenities, such as showers. If so, that sounds reasonable.
