Ok, I am going to camp at Lake Tahoe pretty soon, and I've been camping only once before. l heard there are no mosquitos, and we're mostly waterskiing for almost the whole week. l need help on maybe some easy ways of keeping my hair back while camping, and maybe someadvice on what to wear. l have a ton of tank tops and shorts, but l know l can not ALWAYs wear that for the whole trip. l also need to find some way to keep my hair and skin ok in the woods. (There are good showers, or so I am told.)
l need to know what l should bring, and what l shouldn't.
by the way, nope, NO RV. just a good ol tent.

l would say bring some heavier clothing in case you want to hike (or in case it rains and gets cooler) pants long sleeved shirts maybe a hat, bug repellent is a definite must unless you like those mosquito is you mentioned, maybe some water proof sun screen, if you have long hair you can always pony tail it other wise your on your own there lol. That lake might be good for swimming too so swim suit might be a good idea, an thats all l can think of at the moment.

well from the sounds of it its a improved campground so youll have most ur ammenties so hygine wise just pack whut u use (nuthing chick smelly though) and were good sturdy cloths denim kacki tanktops and such should b fine for watersking but u might want sumthing rugged and long sleeved if u go off in the buch so as not to get cut up by branches. a few wet wipes also would behoove u and anything with deet in it should take care of bugs

Although it might nice & sunny during the day, the temperatures could drop at night. l would definitely bring a variety of layers for clothing. Cotton becomes useless when it gets wet & takes forever to dry so opt for a fleece jacket or wool sweater, wool socks & long pants for extra warmth. You might also want some long underwear to sleep in. Do not forget rain gear! A rain poncho from Wal-mart will work if u do not want to spend tons of money.

As far as keeping ur hair back, a hat always works. You can also tie it back with a bandanna.

If there r modern shower & bathroom facilities, u can bring whatever u use for ur skin & hair. If not, u need to consider a biodegradable soap such as Dr. Bronner is castile soap available at outdoor stores. Also, alcohol-based hand sanitizers r useful.

Have fun!

No need to worry Lake Tahoe is not really camping. It is like city time so do as you normally do. l bet your are even bringing the R.V.

Most of the comment so far will do you good.

Enjoy yourself and do not be careless with matches as it is very dry and we already had too many fires up there this year.

Well, l live right outside of Tahoe & if u like the outdoors at all then Tahoe will be a blast. Use hair rubber bands & if there r shower at all u will be fine. Bring small containers of shampoo & conditioner that way u do not have to lug arounf the bigger ones. Sunscreen is a must, it will keep u skin moistened & it is really easy to burn up in Tahoe because of the elevation. As far as clothes go, the nights get pretty chilly up there somethimes so bring a light jacket & jeans as well. Other than that the days r perfect so shorts & a tank would be good. l would still bring bug repelant too. The best stuff out there is Repel Lemon & Eucalyptus Oil. It smells ok & has no cancer causing deet.

1. Answer: Hair
Use whatever u normally use, elastic hair bands (goody?), clips, bandanna.
2. Shower/washing
Unless the showers connect to a sewer system its a good idea to use Bio-degradable, Dr. Bronners is a must have, u can find the peppermint (this scent works to best for getting odors off ur skin & hair..ie..woodsmoke/fish) in most outdoors stores, some lager chain stores have Dr. Bronners in their organics section, otherwise try Wholefoods or a smaller store. Also Dr. Bronners works for everything, hair, skin, dishes, & clothes.
3. Clothing: If u do not have a lot of space stick to 3-5 tops (tanks/tee's), two pairs of shorts & two pairs of long pants, one sweatshirt, comfy shoes, 1 pr. sandals (for beach/shower). If u have a lot of space, then the sky is the limit, just make sure u have a couple of outfits that wo not devastate u to get dirty/ruin.

GOOD LUCK!
