l have a camping trip planned for this weekend & was planning to bring my dog, but she came into heat a couple days ago. Is it still okay to bring her? Or will it attract wild animals?

she very well could attract wild animals. but unless Ur in bear country l would not worry about it if Ur just going to a car campground u should be fine just make sure u have a cage for her just in case l always bring my dog to scare off raccoons & such sticking a wet dog tampon up there should stop alot of the smell & such from escaping. but all & all its a 50/50 choice either ur willing to deal with the BS from her menstruation is & take the risk of attracting some animals in exchange for company & protection (plus it she should scare away most animals with just the old woof woof. or u decide im tryng to just relax on this trip so u leave her at home its really more of a personal choice

If let off leash she may roam looking to mate

If you leave her out at night, she may be approached by god knows what. If you bring her in the tent, she will be bleeding.

She would probably be better off at home with a dogsitter or a family member.

I'd be hestitant to bring her, but if you decide to, strap on one of those diaper things you can buy in pet supply stores so strange dogs can not hump her. Make sure she is ALWAYS restrained or you probably will never see her again.

Consider the fact your dog will be attracting wolves, coyotes as well as wild dogs. Other peoples male dogs in the campground will also be affected, so be considerate and leave your dog with someone.

We were camping when ours went into heat. It was not fun but l was prepared. Nothing happened. l think if your to take her, keep a very close eye on her. There is a chance she could attract other animals. Maybe a family member or friend can watch her while your out camping.
