Are there any good camping spots around Red River?Have stayed there in a condo, but would like to do some camping--got a brochure yesterday from there but it was worthless.Thanks!

CAMPGROUNDS
In & around Red River
FOREST SERVICE CAMPGROUNDS

Junebug Campground: 8,500 ft. elevation 2.2 miles west of Red River on Hwy. 38. Junebug is the first campground on the South side of the highway. Restrooms & water r available.

Fawn Lakes Campground: 8,400 ft. elevation 2.8 miles west of Red River on Hwy. 38 past Junebug Campground on the south side of the highway. Restrooms & water r available.

Elephant Rock Campground: 8,450 ft elevation 3.2 miles west of Red River on Hwy. 38. Elephant Rock Campground is the first campground on the north side of the highway, past Fawn Lakes Campground. Restrooms & water r available.

Columbine Campground: 7.900 ft. elevation, 7 miles West of Red River on Hwy. 38. Columbine Campground will be on ur left across from Fagerquist’s Cottonwood Park. Restrooms & water r available.

Goat Hill Campground: Approx. 8.5 miles west of Red River on Hwy. 38. Goat Hill Campground is on the south side of the highway at the south entrance to the Moly Mine. No facilities.

Cabresto Lake Campground: 9,500 ft. elevation, Northwest of Red River. Access by Mallette Canyon (FS 597) to FS 134 West, or Northeast from Questa on State Hwy. 563 to Cabresto Canyon (FS 134). Take FS 134A north to reach the Lake from FS 134. FS 134A is a primitive road. Camper Trailers r not allowed due to narrow one-way road sections & steep drop offs. Five campsites r available, but no facilities. Non-motorized boating is allowed as well as hiking.

MOST OF THESE CAMPGROUNDS REQUIRE A $12 FEE PER NIGHT AND HAVE A HOST AVAILABLE.
