Where did you go what were some of the high lights.

Inks Lake st. park, Texas. Watching the dudes jump off the 40' rocks. Also l did not have to do any off the cooking. The funniest thing was Meson trying to hard boil an egg by holding it over the fire.

l went to Lake Lahontan in Nevada and it sucked. My niece accidentally stabbed herself through her leg with the marshmallow fork. In one side and out the next. l also did a lot of backcountry hiking and camping up in the Lake Tahoe area. Nobody was stabbed on those trips.

l camp down in North Carolina on the beach near Rodanthe and l have for years. It is just south of Kitty Hawk and north of the lighthouse. l have been going for years and have yet to visit either as l am a beach bum!!! The camp ground has 2 large pools and a hot tub..Unless we go out to eat l never leave.

l went camping a lot this summer ( l camp year 'round). l spent several weeks teaching archery at a boy scout camp near Fairbanks. One day l was walking up the trail with 6 or 7 young scouts from Hawaii. This was their very first trip to Alaska.

Anyway, as we walked up the trail a good size bull moose step out of the woods, onto the trail, about 15 feet in front of us. l would give a years pay to have had a camera & got a picture of their faces.

In case u do not know, a good size moose weighs 1400-1500lbs & is about 7' high at the shoulder. The look on their faces was amazing.

Some other time l will tell u about shooting a bear in my tent & having it fall on top of me & laying there for 4 hours until help arrived.

Camping around Baker Lake is fun. Lots of woods and privacy. The water in the lake is glacier water so it is rather cold. Be sure to go camping in the summer time. The water is great for boats & stuff too. There is usualy enough wind by the afternoon to go sailing. But do bring lots of deet w/u. The mosquito population is huge there. : )

We went up to Two Rivers (NE).

We camped, fished, walked along the trails, and went swimming.stayed for a couple of days. Lots of fun. Our family loves the outdoors. We are in the process of deciding what we are going to do for Labor Day weekend.we are thinking of going up by Fort Randal (SD), since we have a boat and can fish in the damn.

Oh gosh, went twice so far July & this month. Last month was at a camp ground in the National Forest. High lights of that one was the water fight with my husband & neice. Another one was hubby had the pup near this post & she started digging at this hole, well happened to be a wasp hive there, hubby got stung. A few weeks ago we went down to this small town, camped at this camp ground. Not a lot happened there this time. Watched the jet boats go up & down the river. LOVE them. Did lots of walking. MIL & l took our niece swimming & she learned how to swim that day. It was great, she was happy. Aww hubby & l got there & realized we did not have everything. Next day had to drive to a near by town to get what we forgot. Saw some turkey & deer. Niece saw a bear we didn't.
