We use a large storage tote/Rubbermaid container thing. We keep most all of our gear in it and then just throw it in the car when leaving for a trip. While camping we usually keep the tote in the tent with everything in it.

Now that we have a camper, we store them under the sink. But, when we used a tent for many years, we did the Rubbermaid storage thing. Then, we kept it in the back of our vehicle. We never put anything related to food or cooking in our tent because of bears and other animals.

Unless u have a camper, use totes to store most anything. They're waterproof, stackable & keep things clean. Get the see-through ones so that u do not have to open lids to see what is inside. Store things by category: pots & pans in one, cooking & eating utensils, plates, cups, napkins in another - u get the idea. You can use the heavy duty lawn & leaf trash bags for bedding to keep them dry & clean. Do not bother with the lighter weight ones.

And have a great time camping - do not forget the s'mores!

l use the plastic drawer organizers. Top drawer for kids stuff. The middle for suntan lotion, bug spray, rope, wipes, paper towels and toiletries. The bottom drawer is bigger and is great for pots and pans, utensils, plates, cups, dish towels. It works great and packing up to go is a breeze!
walmart has them for $32

We use storage totes. l keep one for dishes/pot/pans etc
and another for food - this way the picnic table stays clear and you it is easy to access and to pack.

l usually either store them in my backpack if l am doing a pack packing trip or in a tent.

However if there are bears or other wild animals, if possible store them in a car, bear box, or a bear bag.

Pack everything in Laundry baskets. After the first few trips if u r having fun, u might want to get a storage tote or two. Start leaving the stuff that u can in the totes. If u wear out the tote, u r a seasoned camper; it is time to get a heavy duty trunk. A wooden trunk is good, or go to Lowes, or a big home store, & look in the tool boxes for big trunks. They r lighter, & some have a removable tray on the top & other storage options. Many have big wheels & a handle to pull them with.
You can also put nails in a nearby tree to hang pans. l have a folding camp grill that l set next to the fire pit if my camp has one, so l can set pans there.
