I am considering buying a blade that would be more useful in the wilderness, and l came across one that is oxidized? l immediately start thinking that it is rusty or something, but that would not make sense. Is this purely for the look, or is their actually a useful purpose in having a ''Serrated Locking Oxidized Blade as opposed to just a normal serrated locking blade?

it depends on what it is made of. If it is aluminum oxide, it is very hard soit would be a good knife.
