There are more than you can visit in one season! It is relatively hard to find a camp ground that is open this time of year, but nonetheless there are places you can go.

Many, Many, Many. Too numerous to list. We have a beautiful state and people love to spend time outdoors. There are State campgrounds, County, and private campgrounds in every corner of the state.

Go outside and visit them!

l found a lot of over priced sites in the state parks. l prefer the national forest camp sites in the UP or upper Michigan. Picture Rocks Nat. Pk is usually full but there are plenty of sites at a county park just east on the lake. The southern half of the state is crowded and all l could find was state parks so l headed back up North.

There are lots of public, federal, and private campgrounds in Michigan. l suggest using the links available on the State of Michigan Tourism website below.

This time of year, l believe Traverse City and Algonac still have camping through the winter with modern restrooms (contact the park to verify the restrooms are open and working)

There are several campgrounds that offer ''vault'' pit toilets and no or limited water that are open all year.
