If you have the basics such as: Clothes, tent, sleeping bag, bug spray (depending on where you live, and how cold it is there), a backpack if you want to carry some stuff with you. If it is going to be with a bunch of people and you already have supplies like food, water, and fire supplies you could bring some cards, or a game or two to play inside the tent at night when it is cold. You could also bring some junk food to munch on at night while you guys are playing a game or two.

Will ur shell go over pile, over polypro, over water bottles, over body?
Can u get wind/rainpants on with boots on, snowshoes?
Can u get gaiters on with boots on?
Plan ur pack beautifully, so that it takes as little time as possible to get anything out.
All extra clothing should be quickly accessible.

First Aid kit might save your life, but most likely will make a painful incident a little less so. ALWAYS take a first aid kit no matter where you go in the outdoors.

20 replies from 20 experts and no one mentioned a closed cell ground pad (or two, if you are new to all this) to sleep on. Or a very leak proof air mattress, or both! You are going ''camping'' there soley for an athletic event so you want to be as rested as possible as this ''camping'' is not a backbacker survival challenge expedition miles into the swamp. And you should have practiced getting used to sleeping this way a week ago.
