l dont wanna be around a ton of people, or have to pay for a designated area to be limited to camp in. How do l find places where camping is aloud but its not a business type campground, jus camping in the wild basically?

East coast (DE, PA, VA, WV, area)

Check with ur area National Forest Service & find out where the National Forest is for ur state. (There may be more than one.) When u have found those closest to ur immediate area, or near the area where u expect to be driving through, u have only to pick & choose from the best sites that offer the kind of environment that u prefer for ur campsite. You should be able to find countless opportunities & locations to please even ur most demanding expectations. To be sure u r following the rules & regulations pertaining ur particular National Forest, ask ur regional office to inform u of where ur nearest source for the pamphlets containing all rules, regulations, & other advice can be found. They r provided free of charge & will answer all questions u may have on the subject. They will almost always have detailed maps which can also include campsites & other important features such as historic points of interest, natural phenomenon, wildlife sanctuaries & preserves, ranger stations, fire lookouts, lakes & streams with boat launching facilities, F.S. cabins for rent, etc. Most of the many National Forests in which l have enjoyed staying have a 14+ day limit as to how long u can camp in one spot. However, many of them allow u to move on down the road & set up a new camp & start the time period over again. Over-all, it is a great program & u can learn quickly & easily how to make it work to ur complete satisfaction. Go for it, & have a GREAT time in the Great Outdoors.

try site below,stayed at some in the Rockies and they are small sites far apart pit toilets and some times water but 1-2 hydrants for 25-30 sites.

Hey, there r tons of farms out there, & lots of people who have lots of land that is not close to thier home, & will be willing to let u go there. If u ask a farmer, or someone who has lots of land, then maybe they will let you, make sure that they know ur not going to f*ck up thier land, & u wo not let the fire get out of hand. It seems to always carry over nicely when u bring offerings to them, such as a couple of bucks & bottle of whiskey/wine something of that nature. Help them out if it becomes a running relationship by clearing out some of the old dead trees for ur fire, & not cutting down the live trees. Clean up when u leave, & make sure the fire is out.

Out West there is allot of BLM land - all sorts of places to camp in.

Take a walk in the woods.
