My brother and l would like to travel the country in our car and stay in our tent everynight at various campsites.Is there a site that shows free campsites where we can pitch our tent?

dude. just pull over and walk a little into the woods and camp there. just make sure you have weapons because of bears and hillbillies.

try backpacker.com. I`m sure a lot of the state parks will allow you to tent for free, state parks not national. There are also plenty of Scout camps across the country I`m sure they would not mind you pitching a tent for the night.

You have to look for them. Know one will hand them to you. BLM & Forest Service lands have free camping. State Forests maybe. Out west some small towns have a free park. l look up each county on the Web as l go, Public Libraries have internet usually for free. If the site is developed, water, u will usually pay. Off season l can usually find a National Forest Campground which is still open, no water so its free. l have found that away from cities u have better luck finding sites. State Park r usually expensive & set for long stays for families. National Parks r like cities l only go into them off season. Maps at the library may show camp grounds. Good Luck & have fun.

l am not sure about tents, but l found a site that offers a couple of free camping for RVs. l am sure if you look up ''camp for free in'' and then put a state, you will have some luck.

Find some trees. After dark, wander out, pop up a tent. If youre nervous, leave before the sun comes up. :)
