I am looking at a camping lantern and notice they have crank ones now. What l cant seem to find is how long they last on say l minute of cranking? Has anyone got some experience with these?

Ive not used crank items.
Ive had great dependablity w/ propane fueled camp gear.
they are quick easy dependable available and proven.
gl w/ the new Lantern.

what ever you decide..try to find one w/ a case to pack away in the off season.they will last a life time

l got one for Christmas. l get about 2 hours light for 1 minute of cranking. Looks like the medium-priced ones are as good as the expensive ones. The extra-cheap ones I've checked out were rather flimsy.

Cybalite make a wind up torch that claims to give about 5 mins burn for 1 minute cranking, 10 mins burn for 2 mins cranking and 15 mins for 3 mins cranking. The lanterns give longer burn times with about 8 mins burn for 1 minute cranking.

Some wind up torches and lanterns come with chargers that plug into your car cigarette lighter and on full charge can give as much as 3.5 hours burn for a torch and 5 hours for a lantern.
