l just got a new zippo lighter tuesday night, and lately the spark is getting weaker and all it too was ONE strike to light and now its taking 2 or 3 sometimes. What should l do?

check the flint, and stop playing with it!

Check the flint or it may need lighter fluid.

Replace the flint ( l know you already had this answer), but Also, the wick may still need to absorb some more fluid. It may take a little while for it to become completely sturated with fluid.

they have l life time guarantee. unless you've been lighting things on fire every other minute it should not be like that unless you did not fill it with lighter fluid when you got it. i'd take it back. ~~~*<>{

If it is that new l would take it back to the store and get an other one. The lighter should work more then that.

it may need a new flint open the lighter hold bottom in one hand & hold the top part whare the fire is & pull lighter out of the case on the bottom u will see a screw turn it counterclockwise carefull it has a spring atatched & on the end thare is a round piece of metal on it that looks alot like a flint..that is probbly what is makeing the spark.take the screw out put flint in & replace screw assembley.i used to keep extra flints under the first lare of cotton.. if u wrap rubber bands around the lightor it wont slip out uf youre shirt pocket too easyly.if u carry it in youre pants pocket on a hot day the fuel can come out of it due to heat & cause redness & blisters on youre leg. hope this helped you.

it needs a new flint. the factory supplies a very small flint with new lighters and it wears out quickly.
