Its a beautiful area. You will love it. Very nice in April, might run into a few rain showers, they are common this time of year.
Sure there are rattlesnakes and scorpions but you wont see any l am sure. Been in that area throughout my life, camped a lot, l have never seen either.
Do not worry too much an let it ruin your experience. Just be mindful of where you step and keep your tent zipped just in case.
