I am looking for campsites in Arkansas (the closer to Faulkner county the better)l know there is lots of state parks here, but I am trying to save on $$.If there are any, would they accomodate a 21' camper trailer?(Obviously l know they would probably be without hookups-because those cost money)

Thanks!

Many US National Forests allow camping in places other than established campgrounds. When it is allowed it is almost always free.

Right next door, in Conway, is a Corps of Engineers Campground, Toad Suck, which runs $10 a day for seniors with a Gold Card. Gold Cards are free, and can be obtained at a lot of the C.O.E. campgrounds and National Parks. If you have not discovered C.O.E. campgrounds yet, most will tell you they're the best. This particular campground is on the Arkansas River, and has high ratings.

Go to a national park, some have free trailer parking.
Or buy a low cost one at a privite camp site!

Most of the above will offer discounts if u r staying for a week or a month. We just booked near Mountain View & the 7th night is free. These places also have showers, ice, playgrounds, boat docks & some of the basics etc., so there is not a need to leave every day for the necessities (Gas Saved). Some places will let u put ur trailer in a tent spot for the tent $. There is also the security of knowing that u r much less likely to encounter the 2 legged kind of trouble if u have to pay to stay. Arkansas has a wealth of information for the visitor via the internet. Maybe u can find something to fit ur budget. Good luck & enjoy yourself.

u can camp on US Forest Service lands (other than improved campsites) for free, for 14 days & then u have to move to another location but u can then camp at that location for 14 days. occasionally where Forest Service lands r close to a city u might have to move every 7 days because the local businessmen put pressure on the USFS to get u to camp at the local KOA is & private campgrounds. the excuse is ur urine & feces pollute the area but that is BS. they want u to pay $$. read the rules & remember, if u have to obey the rules so do the USFS. if the law says u can camp for 14 days stick up for ur rights. the land belongs to u (the people), not local businesses.
