l vaguely remember a friend is mom chastising me for using smelly lotion while camping once.She told me it would attract animals.Is it a bad idea to bring a scented candle on my camping trip?

Your friends mom is right depending on what it smells like it may attract bugs,raccoons, or even bears. l would not personly take the chance

no, do not take it! It will attract bugs and other animals. Also, it is dangerous to take it as you might set fire to something.a torch is much better.

Why the hell would you need a scented candle? WTF is wrong with people today.
l doubt it would bring in the animals, and anything producing smoke will help REPEL insects, but come on. One word, CAMPFIRE!

If you are camping in bear country it is a good rule of thumb not to keep anything in your tent that smells. Even toothpaste or deodorant and especially not food. If there are no bears l would not worry too much.
