we have taken up camping and have been twice now but both times we have broken jips on tent and have had to buy a new one. we dont wanna do the same to the new one,as there not cheap. we though we might be pulling the tent to much before pegging it down but if we dont it just sags. its a 8 man tent,3bed with dome. any advise would be great!

it comes with instructions..the poles you dont need to pull to hard, but the pegs used to tie it down can be pulled a little harder..

You need to regularly re-adjust your tent pegs, you can not just pitch it then leave it as the tent will sag when damp - after rain or in the morning with dew - but when it dries it will tighten and so put strain on zips, and guy-lines.

Why such a big tent? Large dome tents basically just suck, so they require more maintenance. Collapsing is inevitable, so.

What u need to do is set it up beside some trees, & tie 2 or 3 sides out to those trees. Will also keep it more waterproof. You could also use pegs & put them far away from the tent, but be sure to set up where no one will trip on the tensioned lines, or mark them with flagging tape. ''Hippie Traps'' r annoying, especially at big festivals in the dark.
