l have an old pair of binocular, probably 30 years old. They have very good clarity (that is why l hate to throwit out) but focusing and diopter rings are very very stiff,l can barely move them. Also, it takes lots of force to rotate tubes to align them against eyes. Is there any way to fix this? Is it possible to take out screws and put some sort of lubricant in it?Thank you

Just put any type of lubricant or oil on it and then it should be fine.

Spray just a touch of WD40 on all moving parts.

Gun oil or a similar lubricant will do the job. If u can remove the ring & or eyepiece once u get it lubed up, do so & clean out the gunk. Just be sure to use the kind of oil that has a dropper, not a spray or a straw application device. You risk gettint oil on the optics. You should not need a lot of oil either.

You're correct, a good set of binoculars is not something to throw out. If they r really gunked up, u may want to tke them to a specialty photo shop & have the whole thing cleaned out.

Try penetrating oil and then some silicon spray.
